TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Indonesia Shopping Festival returns to celebrate Indonesia’s 78th Independence Day. The Indonesian Shopping Center Association (APPBI) said the festival offers discounts of up to 78 percent on various products.
The festival will be held from August 10 to 20 in all shopping centers across the archipelago. This year, APPBI aimed at increasing the number of local and international tourists, sales in the retail sector, and prioritizing MSMEs and the creative economy.
“Through this agenda, APPBI is optimistic that it will drive the national economy, especially in the retail sector, so that it can continue to grow and support the country’s development towards a developed Indonesia,” APPBI chairperson Alphonzus Widjaja said in his statement, Thursday, August 10, 2023.
In Jakarta shopping malls, there will be a local durian party at Kota Kasablanka Mall in South Jakarta, an exhibition of Indonesian crafts and MSME products and a culinary festival of JF3 Kampoeng Tempoe Dulu at Summarecon Mall Kelapa Gading in North Jakarta, and art exhibitions titled Heart in Art and Indonesia’s Creativity Unchained in ASHTA shopping center in South Jakarta.
In Semarang, DP Mall will present a fashion show featuring local designers and MSMEs. There will also be Endek & Kebaya Bali trunk show on the Jimbaran Bali Sidewalk, Bali.
Alphonzus said the 2023 Indonesia Shopping Festival was supported by the Trade Ministry, the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry, and the Indonesian Tourism Industry Association (GIPI).
In addition to discounts of up to 78 percent, there will be a midnight sale at Grand Indonesia Jakarta and 23 Paskal Shopping Center Bandung.
